Collection of Brief Memories of the Past

On this page we will share very brief memories of the old days here in the West End.

Of course we would love to sit with you for an hour and hear your remembrances, but some folks are more comfortable with just a brief story.

Also, I will collect memories as I travel on the Internet or at community meetings.

Feel free to click the button on the right and share your thoughts with us.

Gary Bruch
(copied from Facebook post) I will always remember my school days at Polk School in Kresgeville.  Every year a 6th grade student (6th graders were the "big" kids after PVHS was built) was chosen to walk the school's mail to the post office (from the school yard off of the north side Route 209 & Silver Springs Blvd) and pick up the incoming mail at Keller's Store (on the south side of 209 where West End Physical Therapy is now).

I did that around 1964 or 65, I was so happy & proud to walk along Route 209, thru the intersection, waving to people i knew in their cars.

Imagine that today?

(Others commented: Remember kids in your class giving you some money to buy them candy at Keller's while you were there?)
