Electric
Until the school house had its electric turned back on, all our work had to be done
with battery powered tools, flashlights & lanterns.
At first we thought things would move rapidly. But a highly regarded electrician gave us a work estimate that nearly ended the project. We can only assume he saw us as "city folks" with suitcases of money and figured he would take us for a ride. We had done our "homework" and knew the retail price for the parts that were needed, this guy inflated those prices by 10 times and inflated his hourly rate. We had to laugh because his estimate
even included 32 cents - he couldn't even round it off.
Fortunately, we met another electrician and he appreciated that we weren't here
to make a profit and that all the money was coming out of our pockets.
He did a great job and now we had to deal with PP&L. Everyone loves to complain about
electric utility companies, but we have only had the best experiences
each time we dealt with them.
And once again, the men & women of PP&L came through with flying colors.
